The mission of the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) is to support the university towards compliance with quality standards in teaching, research, organisation and management. It targets the strategies, procedures, actions and attitudes necessary to guarantee the maintenance and continuous improvement of quality, through awareness raising, auditing and internal evaluation in these areas:

– The quality assurance unit reports to the head of the establishment.
– The unit is made up of members chosen for their availability and skills.
– The coordinator of the QAC, known as the « Quality Assurance Manager » (QAM), is chosen from among its members.
– The university’s QAR will be appointed in July 2016.
The unit participated in the preparation of the university’s establishment project.
The first action was an information meeting for all the staff of the university on 13/03/2017, composed of all the deans and their vice-deans in charge of pedagogy, during which a presentation on quality assurance, the national frame of reference, and self-evaluation took place,
The second sensitization action was in the form of meetings at the level of each faculty and the institute of G.T.U., with the dean and the whole pedagogical staff on the operation of self-evaluation and quality assurance, explanations given by the RAQ and the sub-committee of each faculty. These meetings were preceded by the sending of emails of the national referential, a presentation on quality assurance and the transmission to all the actors of the documents relating to the self-evaluation (the questionnaire).

The composition of this committee follows the recommendations suggested by the Commission d’Implantation d’un système d’Assurance Qualité dans les établissements d’Enseignement Supérieur (CIAQES). It is composed of :
– A president of the committee
– All members of the CAQ
– The Vice-Rector in charge of External Relations, Cooperation
– The Vice-Rector in charge of Graduate and Continuing Education
– Faculty representatives from each faculty and institute.
The decision to launch the operation was taken by the Rector at the level of the University’s Scientific Council on 11 April 2017 for the first area, which is training, and in October 2017 for the six remaining areas.

The conduct of the self-evaluation is a delicate operation which required several months of work and the mobilization of several skills gathered in a self-evaluation committee composed of about twenty people.
The final report was sent to the supervisory authority in July 2018.
After the self-evaluation operation, all the faculties of the university presented an action plan spread over a period of five years.
